In this BIPOC centered workshop, you’ll learn how to process plant material to create your own screen prints. This is a 2 day workshop over the course of 2 Saturdays. (You must be available for both Saturdays.)
All materials will be provided.
What we’ll cover:
How to process plant material to make powder pigment (Day 1)
How to turn that powder pigment into screen printing pigment (Day 2)
The basics of screen printing (Day 2)
What you’ll take home:
Any powdered pigments left over that you processed
Any screen printing pigment that you processed
Your screen that you used to print your image(s)
The final project you printed
New skills to use for the rest of your life
*The cost= $75- $200 (sliding scale)
*The cost is sliding scale. Partial funding for this workshop has been provided by the Black Fiber & Textile Network to help reduce costs. However if you can pay the full cost, it would be greatly appreciated as it will cover the remaining portion not covered by BFTN.
