Inspiration
So it’s been very quiet for the last several weeks, because I was celebrating my birthday and then I’ve been struggling to get some screens made. So first here’s some fun. For my birthday I took an Amtrak trip up the Pacific coast, stopping in LA, Portland, and Seattle. Last year for my birthday I decided to take a train trip every year. So I used my birthday as an opportunity to do just that. And honestly I am so grateful that I did. By the time my birthday comes everyone in the family has had their birthdays and the kids go back to school, so I’m tired. So this trip was an amazing reset. So here’s some things I found inspiring, for different reasons, while I was away.

Besides the train the main thing I wanted to do was see “All About Love” the MICKALENE THOMAS exhibit at the Broad. And it absolutely was the perfect way to end my trip and everything I had hoped for and more. It was beautiful, thought provoking, and inspiring as an artist. If you haven’t seen it yet, and you’re able to get to LA, it’s up through Sept. 29, 2024.
Since returning, I’ve been anxiously trying to get my work going, but it’s been one headache after another. I’m just about through it. And I’m so excited to get working. PLUS I begin the Canopy Program this week, which is super exciting, and I can’t wait to see how the program impacts my work.
