“Irugbin Doll” is a companion piece to “Where You GO I Go”. it explores the idea of- how would you bring seeds with you if you were forced to leave your home? In this case the seeds are hidden with a child’s toy. When you consider that our ancestors were always thinking of their children, it’s only fitting that a child would carry the future with them.
The arms and legs are stuffed with raw cotton that still has it’s seeds.
There is a zipper in the back to hold the seed packets in the body.
The head is filled with indigo seeds, and the sun has sunflower seeds.
